Day 2, Arriving at the Mission

The group moves into the new mission school at 9:30pm
Day number two, brings us to the mission...

Today took us from Brighton, CO all the way down to Counselor, NM, via southern CO... The driving was uneventful, other than a small dodge of a roll of insulation that a previous vehicle had dropped...after stopping for lunch we found the order number for the insulation attached to the van's bumper, and apparently, we had dodged roll 99 of 150!

The drive through the mountains was a beautiful as it could be, and the conversations in both vans were heart warming. At nearly every stop, we mix up (change) the occupants for both vans...makes a good way to get to know everybody better on the team.

Raz flew in early to Farmington, NM (about a 1.5 hour drive from the mission) and with the help of Lorenzo (the gentleman whose home we are working on), picked up most of the building materials for our project... Either way it will be a push to get this 10' by 20' addition done in 5 days! Pray for us!

Today's team scripture was from the Psalms and emphasized how God provides us with wisdom and guidance, from youth on into our later years.

Just a few images from our second day...
We met Jim Arden riding alongside the road near La Jara, CO. He is riding to California, raising money for Down's Syndrome research...he's our first renaissance cowboy on the trip so far, as he said, "The only cows I deal with are on my plate...rare." Just one of many of the team shots...here a few of us pause to grin... When the kids don't follow the rules of the van, well, lets just say they must ride on the trailer! This started with a bet that Chris M could not navigate all 6 sprinklers without getting wet...well needless to say, he won the bet, but the other 10 of us of so, were not quite as talented! Here Boni and Andrea try their best!
