Day 3, Paint and Boards

Just talking about school and life...
An early start for the construction team.

To get a jump on the ambitious building project, the construction team, navigated the 30 minutes of unmarked winding desert roads, getting lost only once before finding the home we started to work on! The group met Lorenzo, Lucy, Lori and Amala over the course of the day's work, and a couple others stopped by to see what the gringos were up to. It seems as if the whole area knows that we were coming. We take that to be a good sign and know that there will be further conversations.

The other half of the team visited the church service at the Navajo church in Nageese (nah-gee-see). One student remarked, "I couldn't understand the service...the whole service was in Navajo!" After that the group picked up painting supplies in Farmington, and had time to visit a natural rock formation called "Angel Rock." They say it's worth the trip to see it.
