Child of God!

First United Methodist Church in Lindstrom is a welcoming, accepting, and authentic community of faith.

Together at First UMC we grow as disciples of Jesus trusting in His forgiving grace and endless mercy. Our goal is to always strive to stay faithful to the three scriptural imperatives of the United Methodist Church: 1.) To Grow in Love toward God and Neighbor (Matt. 22:37-40), 2.) To Reach New People (Matt. 28:19-20), and 3.) To Heal a Broken World (Luke 4:16-21).

To stay true to these, is to stay true to Jesus and his life and ministry.

God loves all people.

So do we.

Please take a look around our website and Facebook page. We hope you will contact us if you have any questions.

“Together: Created for Community”

Dear Friends,

“As it is, there are many parts, but one body.” -1 Corinthians 12:20 (NIV)
“Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.” -1 Corinthians 12:27 (NIV)

My family and I just returned from a week-long camping trip to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in Northern MN. There were seven in our group, total. Seven people together 24/7 for six days straight in the primitive wilderness is a true exercise in teamwork and building community. It’s critical to the success of a trip like this that all work together – cook together, clean up together, paddle together, portage gear together – all the while encouraging one another as part of this temporary and unique community.

I reflect on this recent experience as I am mentally preparing for our fall preaching and worship series at First UMC, beginning on Rally Sunday, September 9, entitled, “Together: Created for Community.”
